Man on the Flying Trapeze yoyo trick instructional video. Video transcript
Once you’ve got a good sideways throw what you’re going to find is that learning your first mount for Man on the Flying Trapeze is not that difficult. The real key is getting used to the idea of making your opposite hand stay still. So take your opposite hand and just point your first finger outwards just like this and what you’re going to do is, when you do your normal throw, as soon as the string touches this finger your just going to move your hand to the outside just a little bit, and what that will do is it will cause the yoyo to wrap right around your finger and land right on the string. I’ll show you. As long as you’re not moving this finger then if you’re missing then you know this hand is where the problem lies, not with this hand. That way you don’t have two axes that you’re trying to mess with. Obviously, if the yoyo is falling on the inside it’s because your yoyo hand is pushed too far out, if you pull it too far in then your yoyo will miss on the outside. That way you can correct it by making sure that your yoyo hand is properly aligned.
Once you get the yoyo mounted onto the string, to finish the trick all you do is bring your two hands together, let the yoyo swing back and forth, pull them apart to catch it.
That’s Man on the Flying Trapeze.
