What is Freehand Yoyoing? Learn all about Freehand (5A) in this video. Video transcript
Freehand is a style of yoyoing where the end of the string is attached to a counterweight . What this allows you to do is move both ends of the string at the same time opening up a whole new set of tricks that you can do.
For the beginning freehand videos I will be using a Metal Drifter yoyo. We do recommend that you mod it to play unresponsive. We have made this easier by providing a Metal Drifter Unresponsive Kit that you can buy in the store.
If you are just getting started out with Freehand, you may want to consider getting a plastic yoyo because you may drop it or it may hit your hands.
One thing to remember while doing Freehand is that you have to move the yoyo and the counterweight at the same time. This is difficult, but with hard work eventually you will get it down and have a great time.
