There you are, standing in a public place quietly practicing your ever skillful art of Yo. You begin by performing a few simple tricks to warm up, gradually moving on to some more difficult tricks. A crowd begins to gather.
Then it happens….
An old man standing in the crowd ventures forward a few steps. He admires your skill and then begs one question, “Can you walk the dog?”
This type of scenario will happen again and again throughout your yoyo career. Just remember one thing: be humble.
Like all great skills and powers, yo-yoing comes with a responsibility. That responsibility is to have a certain humility about you. No matter how vapid or absurd a question, such as “Can you walk the Dog?”, may seem in comparison to your main repertoire of tricks, you should never feel too good to perform a simple walk the dog.
After all, if walking the dog is what pleases your crowd, why deny them pleasure from such an uncommon skill?

Thats pretty cool advice
it’s true. happens all the time. i usually keep a plastic yoyo on me just for that. i wouldnt scrape my $120 metal yoyo on the concrete. in a situation where i dont have a spare plastic i do arm grinds or find a suitable surface to “walk the dog” on.
Ya its true it happened the other day i was practice in hope this would happen and yes people gathered and then a old guy said those words. Plus i just learned the tricks i was doing from this web site. i am a beginner though.
Um i just bought a originaqtor and it completely fell a part and i tried to to put it together and when i spin the things together the yoyo will just keep spinning. I would like to know how to fix it plz and thx.
I’m glad that more new tricks are coming up on the webstite. I’ve just learned the picture tricks, and now am moving on to the looping because I have a Dominator. I very good at doing multiple Around the Worlds, but I just can’t seem to get the inside loop to work. I can do a forward throw, but when it comes back, I don’t know how the hand is supposed to throw the yo-yo back out straight, because it spins out every time I try to do it. How can I improve the hand motion?
Good question Keegan. The motion involved in looping a yoyo is very complex and yet simple at the same time. For most people it is just a matter of practice to get the right motion down.
It is likely that you are trying to throw the yoyo back out either too early or too late. One tip that might help (it helped me out when learning) is you may want to try following the yoyo around your hand by curving your wrist. Essentially, this just means over emphasizing the motion required to loop. You can get a feel for that motion by watching the looping video and hopefully, in time, you will become a looping master! Keep up the good work
hay biran, peterfish should make a yoyo holster.
when i loop it usually gets stuck an inch after it goes back out *sigh* can u help?
please?
im at my dads. no yo-yo i currently have 2 dominators one is at my dads. its lost. the other is at my moms. no break pads. i bought a luminator for some string tricks …. unresponsive O.M.G! I NEED TO YOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
miguel, on the dominator you have, it sounds like the hex nut came out. if so, you need to remove the side cap, and make sure the hex nut is secure in the side where the plastic holds it in place. also this can be caused by stripping out the plastic that holds the hex nut.
i would send it back and tell them to replace it. if you have the packaging walgreens might return it or let you exchange.
