This trick is called the Matrix, and it looks like this.

That’s it. You may have been able to tell, but the Matrix is a combination of two tricks that you have already learned, with a little bit extra thrown in the middle. So I will show you that, and there are a couple variations to this trick as well that make the trick look a little bit more impressive, and we will get around to that too.

Let’s start at the beginning, which is your Double or Nothing. Now you should have already learned this, along with your dismount, so that is the first part of the trick. From the dismount you are going to go into a Reverse Flip on the Side-Mount or the Trapeze, which again, you have already learned. All you are going to do from here is toss it off to the side and get it right back here onto your Double or Nothing. This trick is repeatable, so you can just go like this, right back into your Double or Nothing. As long as you have got spin you can just keep doing it. Just like that. It is as simple as that.

Once you have got it down there are a few things you can do to make it look more impressive. The first one is, after your reverse flip, you can really throw the yoyo off to the side and that gives it just a little bit more action. So that it looks a little bit better you can just go like that. Look over there, you know, that is just how it works. So that is one thing that you can do.

Another thing that you can do that just changes the trick a little bit is when you come out of your Reverse Flip, if you really toss the yoyo over, you can see this string wraps around this finger a little bit, if you drop your finger to get it unwrapped, then you can toss it around and do a full Double or Nothing. Just like that. I’ll show you what I mean, you are going to go over, you are going to get the string off your finger, and then just go right back into a Double or Nothing. What that allows you to do, it has a little bit more motion, than the regular trick does. So you are just going to go over, get it off your finger, go right back around and boom back on the string. So you go over, right back around. Like I said that is just a variation. Something you can do to add a little bit more flair to the trick.

So again, this is the basic Matrix, if you want to add a little bit more flair you can throw it around an extra time.

And that’s the Matrix.

This trick is called Ninja Vanish, it looks like this.

Now, Ninja Vanish is a Slack – Green Triangle trick and to do this trick you want to start by throwing your Breakaway. From here we are going to stick our finger underneath the string and pinch. What you are going to do, is you are going to pop the yoyo up. That is going to give you a lot of slack. What you can do with that slack is you can whip it behind the string and it will create this loop that you can whip right into the yoyo and catch it. From there you will find yourself in a Green Triangle that you can pop right out the front.

So that is pretty much the whole thing to Ninja Vanish. If you want you can put it into combinations. We saw a YoYoFactory video the other day that combined it by going into a Trapeze and His Brother Slack that you catch with the whole hand and from there you whip right around and into a Ninja Vanish.

So, to show it to you one more time this is Ninja Vanish.

This trick is called Skin the Gerbil and it looks like this.

Skin the Gerbil is just a combination of a bunch of tricks you already know, with a couple of new elements.

To start, just throw your Trapeze, and we are going to do a couple of forward flips and land in to a Double Trapeze. Flip off, and you are right back into your Trapeze. Now we are going to do a Double Trapeze over our yoyo hand, like this, and flip off. Once again, you find yourself right back in the Trapeze.

From there, we are going to go right back over our opposite hand, like we are going to do a Double Trapeze, but this time miss in front, swing again, land on the string, then unwind it and bring it back to your hand.

When you put it all together, again, it looks like this. Two flips, Double Trapeze, Double Trapeze, miss, Double Trapeze, off. And that’s Skin the Gerbil.

This trick is called the Hydrogen Bomb, and it looks like this.

If you were paying attention you may have noticed that the last few elements of the trick were just a couple of flips. We will tack those on at the end. We are going to spend most of this video just talking about the first part of this trick. That is what is really unique about it.

To start this trick you want to start with what is called the Hydrogen Mount. Aptly named because it was named for this trick, I assume. The Hydrogen Mount is really just a One and a Half Mount but instead of catching the yoyo away from your body, you are actually going to bring the yoyo on the inside of the string and mount the yoyo right here. It is a little bit awkward at first. You want to bring the yoyo, flip it so that it kinda comes over your finger just like this, and then you are going to stick your first finger right in front of it and have the motion carry it over so that it lands right on that string. Just like that.

Once you get the yoyo here, the rest of the trick is not too complicated. You are going to bounce it right over your finger on your opposite hand. Then you are going to take your opposite hand and push it into this string again. You can see that there are two strings. There is the string that goes to your yoyo finger, here, and then there is the other string that is connected to the yoyo. You want to roll it onto the string that is connected to the yoyo. So you are going to go under and then you are going to go right onto this string here. When you do that, all you do is let the rest of the strings off your finger so you only have the string on your opposite hand and then on your yoyo hand.

Then all you need to do are a couple of flips to finish the trick. You want to do one reverse, then a flip forward, and then a reverse dismount and that finishes the trick.

So here it is one more time: The Hydrogen Bomb.

This trick is called the Boomerang and it looks like this. The Boomerang is really just a hop, except that it is in front of you. That way can can start with your front-mount if you want to. But if you want to start an even easier way you can just lift the yoyo up and get the yoyo on the string. All you are really doing is throwing the yoyo forward and then pulling it back to yourself.

To get that forward motion at first all you’re really doing is swinging your top hand and that makes the yoyo go out a little bit. If you want your yoyo to go out even further you are going to need to bring your hands together. That way you can get as much distance out of the yoyo as possible. With a little bit of practice you will be able to bring your hands together between each boomerang no problem.

The nice thing about the Boomerang, besides being kind of fast and flashy, is that it is great for combinations. So if you want to start with your front-mount, throw it out a couple of times, then just bring it right back in and do a couple of your front-mount tricks, that works pretty well.

The other thing you can do is a single boomerang into a one-and-a-half boomerang. When it goes out, you lift your yoyo hand into the string and catch it on this string right here. You can do that as many times as you want.

This even lends itself better to combinations, because if you use the one-and-a-half boomerang you can see right here you are in your one-and-a-half mount. Any trick you can do from your one-and-a-half mount can be done from that one-and-a-half boomerang. You just go out, into your one-and-a-half boomerang, now you’re here. Do all your different tricks.

It is a nice trick. Make sure you are giving it as much distance as you possibly can, because that makes the trick look better. Work on your one-and-a-halfs because that will make the trick look even more interesting. That’s the Boomerang.

This trick is called the Ripcord and it looks like this. As you can see the Ripcord is pretty simple and actually it is a technique, so you will find that the Ripcord technique will work in all sorts of different places but this is usually the first one that you learn; this is where you start.

So, to begin you want to mount your One and a Half Mount, your Split Bottom Mount. What you will see is that in front of the yoyo there is a single string, and on the back side of the yoyo there is this double string right here. All you are going to do is roll the yoyo back onto that double string twice. So you are just going to do it once, and then on the second time you are just going to let the string of this first finger on your yoyo hand. When you do that you can see that it sets you up for a trapeze mount. It is kind of a neat way to go from a Front Mount, to a Side Mount. You can also do it from a Side Mount to a Front Mount. There are lots of variations.

I’ll show it to you one more time. Again, this is the Ripcord.

This trick is called Seasick and it looks like this. Seasick is not the most complicated trick but it can take a little while to get down just because it is a lot of fast motions. I’m going to show you the basics right here on how to do it.

The first thing you want to do is get into your Split Bottom Mount. All the trick really is is you are just bouncing back and forth right over your yoyo hand just like this. By doing it just a little bit above your head and then you are going to make kind of a wave motion with your hands that is going to create the right effect that you want. Again, you get it on your Split Bottom Mount. You are going to start it off back towards yourself. You are going to pull down with your opposite hand and you are going to pull up with your yoyo hand. See how that causes it to go up into that top string a little bit? Then the goal is just to try to catch it again on the bottom string when the yoyo falls back down without it getting any slack and coming back to your hand.

Usually, when I am doing the trick, what I work on is really aiming to make sure that I hit that bottom string. That is the string that is the easiest to miss. As long as I can hit that bottom string then I can keep the motion of the yoyo going. Again, it is not too complicated, just give it some time.

That’s Seasick.

This trick is called Cold Fusion and it looks like this.

To start this trick you want to start off with your Double or Nothing. The first part, all you are really going to do is you are going to bring your yoyo hand and then your opposite hand right underneath the yoyo and catch it right on this string. So you are going to bring it right under here… and then you are going to push into the strings and then you are going to catch it on the same string, the outside string, right here with your opposite hand, and then pull that finger out. What you will find is that this will get you right into a One and a Half Mount.

If you think about it the second underpass doesn’t really change anything. If you pull your finger out here it goes into your One and a Half already. But that is how the trick works. You want to go under, push into the strings, under, pull your finger out. That gets you about halfway through the trick.

Once you have gotten to your One and a Half Mount the rest of the trick isn’t too hard. You aren’t going to be doing too much as far as getting it on and off strings. What you want to do is pass it over your opposite hand and then bring it right back and then you are going to continue the motion to give it two twists on your One and a Half Mount. So again, you are going to go over. Bring it right back again here.

The dismount, for some people, can be the hardest part. You are going to unwrap it twice, and as it comes off you are going to pull it over and catch it right back on this string.

Let me put the whole thing together for you. So you are going to go under, come over, you are going to go under, pull your string out, this gets you to a One and a Half Mount, go off that way, bring it back twice, pull it off, and again you want to try to catch it on that string. Sometimes you can miss that.

Let me show it to you one more time in full speed. When you get better at the trick it can look a whole lot more impressive than just going under and under. You can throw it into those other strings and that makes it work just a little bit better. So you kind of throw it over, throw it over, bring it right back, catch it on the string.

That’s Cold Fusion.

This trick is called Pop n’ Fresh and it looks like this.

You may have noticed that this trick starts off exactly the same way as Mach 5. Just like Mach 5 you are going to go under, over the top and then under again. Normally with Mach 5 you are going to be doing a rotation like this, but with Pop n’ Fresh you are just going to position your hands with your yoyo hand out front. From here, that is where you are going to start doing your hops.

Again, you just go under over under and you have go your setup right here. To get the yoyo to hop off the string, a lot of times you may think that you want to pull your hands apart and that will cause the yoyo to come up. You can do that but I have found that it is easier if you just lift your hands like that, and that will cause the yoyo to pop itself off. So you kind of lift and that will cause the yoyo to go up, and this is where the trick gets complicated. You are actually going to switch the position of your hands. The tendency, especially when you are first learning this trick, is that you are going to want to go around the yoyo like this. That won’t work. You need it to be absolutely straight. I’ll show you what I mean. You can see that my hands are just continually straight. As I switch back and forth.

Again, you are going to start with your yoyo hand out front. You are always going to try to hit this string on your second pass, because that is what makes the trick work.

Usually you are going to end on your opposite throw. So if you end on your first throw that will pretty much put you back into a One and a Half Mount. If you end on your other throws that will set you up in the same position as Mach 5 and you could actually do a Mach 5 out of the trick if you wanted. So either way will work really, but I have found that it is usually easier to get out of the trick on a One and a Half Mount, which is going to be on your opposite throws.

You just want to keep practicing it. It can be difficult to keep the accuracy up on the trick, but once you get better and better at it you will find it is not really a problem, just like every trick. So work on it. That’s Pop N’ Fresh.

This trick is called Revolutions and it looks like this.

Revolutions is a slack string trick as you could probably tell. It starts off with your One and a Half Mount and where you get the slack is you are going to pinch the string between your first finger and your thumb right here. This will allow all this string to hang free. To do the Revolution all you are going to do is swing the yoyo on the inside and outside of your wrist. Just like that.

You want to make sure that when you are doing the trick the first swing is actually on the inside. Again, you pinch it then you swing it in towards yourself. As you continue to swing the yoyo, if you swing it evenly, then the yoyo is actually going to stay on that string. It will keep pushing it around and keep it opened up for you.

To stop the trick, instead of stoping it on the inside you actually want to wait until you have done one of your revolutions to the outside then you just stick your finger into the big wide open string and that will get you right back in to your One and a Half Mount. Just like that. This is right back where you started so you can either dismount or go into any other trick you know from your One and a Half Mount at that point.

I’ll show it to you one more time. Once you get better at it you can do it in one smooth motion, just like that. Bring it back to your hand. And that is Revolutions.
