This trick is called Walk the Dog and it’s actually one of the easiest, but also one of the famous yo-yo tricks you can learn. All the trick really is, is your gonna throw a good sleeper and then touch the yo-yo to the ground; when the yo-yo touches the ground the spin is going to cause the yo-yo to walk forward and that’s really all there is to this trick.
I’m going to show you two tips that are going to make learning this trick a whole lot easier. So, the first one is, when you get your sleeper, your actually going to want to swing the yo-yo behind you so that you can swing it forward again, and that’s going to give it some forward momentum to keep the yo-yo moving.
The second thing is that as the yo-yo is walking you want to make sure never to move your yo-yo hand too close to the yo-yo because that is going to put slack in the string and that’s going to make the yo-yo come right back.
As long as you keep these two tips in mind, this trick is going to be a breeze.
The Originator, with its clutch return system, is the perfect Peter Fish yo-yo for beginners. The Originator comes back automatically before the spin dies out to help beginning yo-yo players learn the basics of the yo-yo craft.
